McAllen Attorney Aaron Daniel Rivera made it official Tuesday, January 24th when he filed to run for Place 5 on the McAllen ISD School Board. Rivera, a McAllen Memorial High School, UTRGV, and St. Mary's University School of Law graduate, returned to McAllen to establish his law practice and to serve the community that gave him a solid foundation.
"I am a product of McAllen ISD", Rivera said, "The McAllen ISD School Board plays a crucial role in the future of our students, our city, and our community, and I hope to serve our community on this Board."
After graduating from Memorial, Rivera joined his family's business, Rivera Funeral Home, as a funeral director, which allowed him to gain first-hand experience in the management, business, and people-centered sides of the organization. While working with his family, Rivera returned to school, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He then gained acceptance to St. Mary's, where he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence.
Rivera has established law offices in McAllen and San Antonio. He serves on the City of McAllen Planning and Zoning Board, is a past executive board member of the Texas Funeral Directors Association, and is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
"I look foward to sharing my platform in the coming weeks", Rivera said, "and to meeting with others in our community who share a passion for McAllen ISD."
